There is no doubt that kids love to sing and dance and it is good that both are part of our education curriculum..We are lucky in New England to have so many excellent public schools and early in August ACOS, the Armidale Community of Schools, showed how well those schools can come together in a non competitive way. Children from 9 public schools performed at an evening of song and dance at the university Lazenby Hall. It was also a way to celebrate different cultures that are part of our community. Through hard work of both teachers.and schools, a two hour concert of song and dance entertained a crowded Hall. Many practices were taken in the individual schools before the children rehearsed out at the university. The final matinee and evening performances were a thrill for both the hundreds of kids and their families.

August is also when Education Week takes place and this week is science week, Science students from the university are visiting schools with special displays and hands on experiences.I hope that where you live, you have many opportunities to be involved with a school.
