Here is a book about gardening with children that I downloaded from the internet and it is an interesting read. It is a book for adults about approaching gardening with children rather than a book of activities for children. The first section on preparing one’s self for gardening, encourages us to think about what our goals are for ourselves and for our children and about the opportunities for learning in the garden. It is good if we encourage each child from the direction of his individual interest. Some children will be interested in creatures, others in making structures, others in the smells or sounds in a garden. Within the text there are lots of activities suggested, but for the ‘how to’ detail it is necessary to click on links. These take you to Marnie’s website. The drawback of this is that the articles on the web also contain ads and affiliate links. I would have preferred to find all the relevant information in the actual book.

Over all this is a book worth reading if you have children and want them to benefit from gardening in the outdoors.
